Wild Buster Might Be Abandoned (Again)

MMO fails to perform for the umpteenth time.

Those of you who read MMO Fallout know that I am a prolific fan of the game Wild Buster, aka Champions of Titan, aka Destructive Effect. It’s a tale as old as time; game launches, CEO asks employees to leave fraudulent reviews, game gets banned from Steam. Game relaunches under IDC Games, aka I Don’t Care Games, doesn’t gain players due to the sheer incompetence of the publisher not marketing its titles, and game shuts down again. Game relaunches under Chinese publisher.

Eight months after launch, I think it’s safe to say that Wild Buster has failed to make its mark a third time. Maybe it’s the fact that the game has been averaging less than five players concurrently on a good day. Maybe it’s the notion that the folks at 9xGame haven’t put out an update since November.

Perhaps it’s related to xStudios not even listing the game on their website anymore. Or maybe it’s just a hunch.

So sure, I may be literally the only person who enjoyed this game enough to play and cover three times including once in a language I don’t understand at all. But what kind of world are we living in where a game with no market potential or customer base gets forgotten about? Not my kind of world, I’ll tell you that.

Remember when the original Wild Buster licensed Duke Nukem? What a waste of a license that was.
