But not by much.
Last month MMO Fallout reported on the launch of World of Tanks on Steam and the ensuing PR problems that the game had in its wake. As it turns out players were not happy to hear that Steam would not integrate old accounts and that existing customers would need to stay on their non-Steam clients going forward. In retaliation players blasted the game with over 1,600 negative reviews during launch week leading to a 36% mostly negative rating.
In the month since World of Tanks hasn’t quite gone anywhere. The review score is now sitting at a 44% mixed rating as positive reviews go up and negative reviews decrease week-over-week. That being said the game has effectively stagnated on Steam since its launch, with a steady concurrent player base hovering around two thousand. Presumably most players are still on the old client, but it doesn’t look like the Steam release has brought in huge swaths of newcomers.
More on World of Tanks as it appears.
