Those of us who play and cover MMOs are well acquainted with the drama of waiting years for a game to come out only to realize that it isn’t all that good. It’s also no secret that the MMO community is notoriously cynical when it comes to new games. So it’s extra exciting when a game releases its alpha/beta and the response from the community is overwhelmingly positive.
Lost Ark is an MMOARPG from Tripod Studios and Amazon set to launch later this year. This past week the company held a technical alpha that anyone could log into Steam and get their hands on. With the alpha having ended yesterday, the Steam page is getting flooded with reviews and the results are ridiculously positive. 97% of Steam users loved Lost Ark enough to give the game a thumbs up.
That’s out of more than a thousand reviews.
The game itself will be free to play when it launches later this Fall, but you can purchase an optional founder’s pack and get some extra goodies. If you missed the alpha, a beta is coming at some point in the future. And again the release will be free to play.
