Rantcakes: It’s Time For CapitalGamingRP To Shut Down

You’ve had your day, now it’s time to go away.

It’s time for CapitalGamingRP Studios to shut down and go away, and for its founder Tanner Rozankovic to never darken our towels again or associate his name with a video game. Pack it up, go do your thing with the military, and when you get out you can have a career anywhere you want. A tollbooth, making sandwiches at Subway with James Romine, Wall Street banker, kangaroo serial killer, honestly I don’t care. Whatever it is, I hope that it pays a living wage and makes you happy. The sky is the limit, as long as that sky doesn’t contain a job in video games.

For those who haven’t seen any of the coverage here on MMO Fallout and on YouTube and social media at large, CapitalGamingRP Studios is the company behind the dismal failure that was Civil Contract. And most of the responsibility for the failure of Civil Contract falls on the head of the studio himself, Tanner Rozankovic. Tanner Rozankovic, aka Varius Benson, is a cowardly bully. In terms of the gaming industry he ranks along the lines of the Digital Homicide Romine brothers in terms of emotional tantrums, delusions of grandeur, and presumptions of his own ability to intimidate and harass and silence his critics. A wannabe mafioso seemingly operating under the misguided idea that if he can’t repair his shattered public image, that he can at least try to ruin the lives of those who dared speak ill of him.

It’s time for CapitalGamingRP Studios to shut down and its developers to go on to better pastures.

Let’s be frank and honest here; your reputation is ruined. Irreparably ruined. You tried to hide Civil Contract because of the damage it did, but the internet never forgets. It will be tied to your company and future projects forever. Varius Benson dumped the pseudonym no doubt in part to distance from the countless videos exposing him as a toxic bully incapable of handling criticism. It won’t work. Monogon: Echoes was launched quietly because the company’s reputation sucks. It failed so miserably that you switched it to free just to get anyone to engage with it. And even at that, a fair few reviews are clearly associates of the company.

Rozankovic has gone on to start doing contract work with a group of equally questionable dealers on an investment scheme called Earth 2. Since Rozankovic joined the team they have been increasingly aggressive with filing defamation complaints against critical YouTubers and inciting harassment against critics. Not content with destroying his own company’s reputation, Rozankovic was caught lying and boisterously talking about how Earth 2 founder Shane Isaacs had put aside several million dollars to sue critics, lies that forced the Isaacs to issue a public denial. Earth 2 is having a PR crisis on its own without Rozankovic’s comments poisoning the well further.

This is what life is like for CapitalGamingRP Studios going forward. Every launch a miserable failure, every attempt at burying your past another reason for more glaring neon lights to be shined upon it, and every new product an opportunity for the dwindling population of the unsuspecting public to be warned about who they are engaging with. CapitalGamingRP is working on two upcoming titles; Ozburg and Overdosed VR. Ozburg is a re-release of Civil Contract because the first one destroyed the company’s image. If either of those games gets a big following I will be shocked to my core. In fact if any of those games spark a conversation that isn’t about their toxic CEO, I will eat a Snickers bar.

Let’s be certain on one thing; everything bad that has happened to CapitalGamingRP Studios and everything bad that will happen is solely the fault of Tanner Rozankovic. Every failed product launch, every exposure on YouTube, every negative review, and every single warning not to touch anything with Rozankovic’s name even remotely attached to it is all his fault. Because there was an opportunity for Tanner to take his fair hits like an adult and use that feedback to improve his work, but he didn’t. Instead he decided to play Boo Boo the Fool and threaten numerous people over fair criticism, and everyone at CapitalGaming gets to put on their clown makeup.

Tanner Rozankovic wants to launch Ozberg to prove that Civil Contract was just “a mistake of the past,” and yet at every opportunity he proves himself to be the exact same toxic, fragile bully that he has always been. We are past that point of reconciliation with the public. The bridges are burnt to ash, the farms have been razed and the animals slaughtered, and the earth has been salted, and it is all a product of Tanner’s intentional doing. I’m a big fan of second chances, but this? There’s no coming back from this. You’re done, son, it’s over.

It took the Romines losing everything to finally admit defeat and walk away, and unfortunately it looks like Rozankovic is going to go down the same path of self-destruction. But make no mistake; Rozankovic’s name is poisoned. CapitalGamingRP is a poisoned brand. Its legacy will stick with it forever, and everything Rozankovic does to spite his perceived enemies will accomplish nothing but digging that grave deeper. And we’re going to get to a time very soon when that grave gets filled in, it all becomes a distant memory, and everyone involved moves on with their life.

And to the other members of CapitalGamingRP Studios, I wish you the best of luck in your careers. I’m sure most of you are just trying to keep your heads down and get experience working in an industry you have passion for. Everyone has that experience working for a bad boss, and unfortunately yours is one of the worst. Don’t let it kill your enthusiasm for making games, there shockingly are actually good leaders out there in the indie scene.

Otherwise I have no opinion on the matter.
