Magic: Legends Sent To The Graveyard

The beleaguered MMO will close down later this year.

Magic: Legends is shutting down later this year. Soft-launched back in March, Perfect World Entertainment announced that servers for the MMOARPG will close down at the end of October. The good news for customers who stuck with the game is that your purchases are all being refunded.

With a heavy heart, Magic: Legends will be shutting down following the end of the PC Open Beta on October 31, 2021. All in-game purchases across Arc and the Epic Games Store will be fully refunded. While the game will remain open until the end of Open Beta, the Zen Shop will be closed later this week, and all items will instead be purchasable using Aether, our free in-game currency.

We’ve noted in the past that Perfect World seemed to be lacking in confidence for Magic: Legends and that scaling back of the more egregious cash shop elements indicated that the game might not have been doing so well, such as removing the loot-box only assassin class.
