Another wave of devs get banned.
Valve has woken from their slumber and banned yet another series of developers from Steam this week. Just under a week after their last big ban wave, a few dozen more games got the kibosh this week.
What’s interesting is some of the devs were straight up impersonating other developers. Developer Seel35gamess/stoun3 got shitcanned after being caught impersonating Rockstar Games, Valve, Facepunch Studios, and more.
Valve may also be taking a heavier hand on fake games that try to game Steam’s sales. Many of Seel35gamess’ titles retail for over $50 but routinely go on sale for just $1 to give a false sense of savings. Meanwhile the games all appear to be mostly fake asset flips.
The same can be said for Loud6, whose games appear to be mostly unaltered asset flips of pre-made titles. The reviews also seem to be pretty suspiciously fake.
Also in the ban list is didlstudio who on further review are just a shell company of Seel35gamess, using the same $60 normal price to $1 sale price scheme. The same goes for developer flummox who was also a shell company for Seel35gamess. And developer Fatsou who is also a shell company.
Overall the ban affects well over 50 titles from one or two actual entities flooding the Steam store with absolute crap. Here’s hoping they don’t get their $100/game deposits back.
