Fancier combat.
Is Throne & Liberty going to be game of the year material? No, definitely not. Will it be game of the anything? Probably the best NCSoft release during the month it comes out.
The public’s reception to Throne & Liberty since the beta earlier this year has been, let’s say, less than delicious. People got angry about certain aspects of the game like the player not being able to move while attacking, as well as the introduction of auto-move and auto-combat making TL feel like a mobile idle game.
The good news is that those aspects are apparently being removed. In a recent producers letter (machine translated), Producer Ahn Jong-ok explains that the team has removed automatic movement and combat.
I also removed automatic movement with automatic hunting. Automation also considered the convenience aspect left in size, but the value of the experience of moving the world directly, meeting people and exploring new areas, boldly determined the removal of size.
In a new video, the team showcases movement in combat to hopefully spice things up and keep the game interesting. In addition it looks like everything from leveling to equipment has been improved to compensate for the removal of auto-hunt.
Check it out.
