Five Ex-Ubisoft Executives Arrested

Shocking.

Five ex-Ubisoft executives are now in police custody to be interrogated and potentially face criminal charges surrounding alleged acts of sexual assault and harassment. According to French newspaper Liberation, five executives are in custody with two of them being none other than number 2 Serge Hascoët and Tommy François.

The allegations blew up in 2020 after a number of employees both current and former lobbed accusations that management at Ubisoft was not only complicit in the sexual misconduct, but approved of it. According to claims from some employees, CEO Yves Guillemot was okay with the toxic management as long as revenue numbers were acceptable. HR allegedly protected and covered for toxic manager behavior, going as far as retaliating against accusers.

In the aftermath a notable section of Ubisoft management was either fired or forced to resign. Whether or not the situation has gotten better doesn’t have unanimous consensus among employees.

The five executives are not being charged at the moment, however their testimony could lead to criminal charges.
