NCSoft Stopped Breaking Down Game Sales

With this month’s quarterly report.

NCSoft has evidently decided to stop breaking down sales figures by game in their financial reports, starting with the fourth quarter. For those who have followed NCSoft’s quarterly reports here at MMO Fallout and elsewhere, you’ll likely recall that a big portion of our interest at least was talking about the ongoing health of individual games.

Take this Q3 sales image for example;

But now NCSoft in Q4 appears to be ditching the concept entirely and only showing sales breakdowns per platform. Like this.

We can speculate until the cows come home as to why NCSoft made this decision. Like that Throne & Liberty’s launch performance in Korea is bad enough to make NCSoft want to avoid another catastrophe like when Blade & Soul 2 tanked their stocks 30%. We know the game underperformed because NCSoft told us. But they seem to be masking just how bad from investors.

But it’s pure speculation, because we no longer get access to NCSoft’s reports. We’ll probably never know, barring NCSoft returning to publishing game breakdowns.
