Scammed.
In the world of pathetic scams, it doesn’t get much more pathetic than not being The Day Before, but trying to ride the coattails of The Day Before, another quite prominent scam. And today Valve banned not one but two The Day Before scam apps. Which is not a lot but it’s crazy that two of them existed at the same time.
It’s probably also a sign that Valve needs to work on Steam verification.
This one;

And this one;

The Carrot The Cat version of the Day Before had previously been masquerading as Grand Theft Auto: Brasil, pretending to be published by Rockstar Games because Valve doesn’t authenticate who a developer/publisher actually is.

It’s important to remember that Valve does virtually no verification checks on games on Steam, nor does it prevent developers from impersonating other, established developers. Keep your eyes open and your defenses up, and if a popular game shows up on Steam and is a ghost town, it’s probably fake.
