Escape From Tarkov players are looking to escape from Battlestate Games this week. In a movie that historians will likely remember as being incredibly stupid, pre-orders for the Unheard Edition of the game went live this week.
And what do you get with the Unheard Edition? Well you already know one of the things if you read the headline.

The $250 Unheard Edition includes your usual fanfare; more slots, unique weapons, increased fence standing, free access to subsequent DLCs, unique items, etc. It also grants access to the PvE co-op with persistent progression and no wipes.
And that’s part of the problem; you can only get the PvE mode in this $250 package. Also the decision has been derided by players as a scam, as Battlestate advertised the prior $150 Edge of Darkness edition buyers were promised access to all future DLC, and it does not include the PvE mode. Battlestate has attempted to deflect criticism by claiming that the PvE mode doesn’t constitute DLC.
Battlestate’s community manager claimed on their Discord; “Just because you all want it to become a DLC it wouldn’t mean it is one. It’s featured game mode for the new edition of the game.” The other perks combined have led to claims of pay-to-win by players due to the massive advantages they give players.
The Tarkov Discord is actively burning as we speak, as the moderators have shut down all but a couple of channels to keep the protests contained. Battlestate for the moment is holding firm on its decision to lock PvE behind a $250 paywall.
We’ll follow up as the story progresses.
So classic bait-and-switch huh. Lmao. Funny times we live in, devs who are supposed to be thinking about making their games as fun as possible think instead about how to swindle people out of their money. xD
