And buried.
They say Homeland is where the Heartland is, and in this case The Division’s Heartland is in a dumpster. Ubisoft announced this week that their strange PvEvP free to play shooter is dead and buried, an announcement that probably won’t be too surprising when you consider how many release dates this game has missed.
Ubisoft gave the following statement in their latest quarterly report:
Additionally, in line with the increased selectivity of its investments, Ubisoft has decided to stop development on The Division® Heartland and has redeployed resources to bigger opportunities such as XDefiant and Rainbow Six
The Division Heartland joins eight other titles having been cancelled by Ubisoft over the last few years including Immortals Fenyx Rising 2. Evidently some in the company feel that they were developing too many games at once.
On the other hand if you’re looking for that Ubisoft juice you’ve got Star Wars Outlaws, XDefiant, Rogue Prince of Persia, Assassin’s Creed Shadows, Gwen’s Getaway, The Division Resurgence, Rainbow Six Mobile, Jade, Codename Hexe, Codename Invictus, Battlecore: Arena, Beyond Good and Evil 2, Project U, The Division 3, Splinter Cell remake, and an Assassin’s Creed mobile game to look forward to.
What person thinks Ubisoft is developing too many games?
