Steam users are upset.
Steam users are upsetti this week and the target of their anger is Hell Let Loose. Hell Let Loose is a “World War Two” first person shooter with 100 player battles that still maintains a pretty healthy concurrent player count on Steam many days. It normally sells for $50 but is on sale for $30 until July 11.
America.
Anyhow, the specific target of player contempt has to do with the recently released Operation Lüttich Units DLC. Specifically players are angry that this DLC costs $12 and contains a series of cosmetics. What’s so bad about that? Well you can only use the skins on Mortain. I’ll reiterate; you can only use the skins from this DLC in one map across the whole game.
The Hell Let Loose wiki lists 8 maps, meaning there are seven maps that you just can’t use these skins on. The DLC isn’t being misleadingly advertised as the title straight up says “Mortain maps only.”
Players in the reviews are also calling these cosmetics “lazy reskins.” It leaves the DLC with a 17% “negative” review score. A few of the reviews on the main game have also pointed out the DLC, for those who wanted to express their disapproval without actually buying the DLC first.
Hell Let Loose is also available on Xbox Game Pass.
