On Steam.
Dauntless is officially on Steam and most of the people playing seem to hate it. With a 22% “mostly negative” review score you might be wondering what did they do to garner all this anger?
I’ll tell you.
Reviews on Steam currently point to the latest big update that, according to players, has gutted the game’s content. According to players the latest update to Dauntless removed a lot of the game’s build diversity, took out most of the weapons, removed crafting, added loot boxes, and basically nullified most of the progression systems.
Players are also upset that the battle pass now contains premium weapons, no longer gives platinum, and the game has been flooded with microtransactions and pay to win mechanics. People with hundreds of hours in the game are lamenting the loss of most of their grinding effort, and apparently the game no longer runs on Linux.
All in all, not a great week for Phoenix Labs.
Besides removing content, players like myself are understandably angry as we’ve spent hundreds of hours gathering materials and crafting weapons, just for all that progress to no longer matter.
