Wargaming’s Steel Hunters Has A Playtest Up

From the Game Awards.

Here’s a trivia question for you; how do you stop players from sharing classified military documents to try to fix your game? You make a game that doesn’t use real military gadgets.

Wargaming has announced their next title; Steel Hunters, a free to play mech hero shooter that combines battle royale and extraction gameplay. It’s a bit of buzzword salad, yes.

“This is a massive moment for Wargaming,” said Victor Kislyi, Wargaming CEO. “We are best known for creating immersive and sustainable digital hobbies for millions of gamers around the world. With Steel Hunters, we’re pushing past our boundaries and bringing something completely new. Our ambition is to create one of the most exhilarating and compelling mech experiences ever.”

You can take part in the closed playtest by signing up on the official website with your Wargaming account. You can also register interest on the Steam page. How long does it take to get in? I don’t know. It’s not instantaneous like many other tests.

Update: It took me about an hour to get accepted into the playtest.

Videos below. The playtest will be available for ten days according to Wargaming. This test is exclusive to PC.
