December: New MMOs You Mighta Missed

Yeah this column has been gone for too long.

We’re bringing back the oldies this month with New MMOs You Mighta Missed. For December, because December is this month and this month is December.

So let’s go over some Steam MMO releases you might have missed. I’m not putting Path of Exile 2 on here because everyone knows about that game.

1. Spire Horizon Online

Spire Horizon Online puts players in the bones of a skelly-man on a question to find your capybara friend. I’m not making any of that up. Your classes are tied to your weapons of choice, and you apparently can customize your skills, your weapons, and your armor in the pursuit of being the very best that no one ever was.

It’s also $3.99. Current Steam reviews are a 65% “mixed” rating with 55 players in the 24 hour concurrent peak.

2. Tales of Fearless

Tales of Fearless is a 2D MMO with “hardcore” gameplay and 17 unique classes. How is it hardcore? I dunno. It does have fishing, making it legally an MMO.

63% of the 14 reviews so far are positive with players accusing the title of pay to win mechanics including an item shop item that lets you access your bank/storage from anywhere. A couple of reviews also accuse the developer of soliciting positive reviews.

3. TeeTINY Online: Smart Tower Life

Referring to TeeTINY Online as a “Second Life MMO” is interesting since Second Life is already considered an MMO by many. The “mixed” rating with 55 player peak game promises a “comfortable gameplay experience” with crafting, combat, and housing, and more.

Evidently a port of a mobile game that is free on phones but $6 on Steam. Go figure.

4. Pantheon: Rise of the Fallen

Maybe this one shouldn’t be on the list, but I completely missed Pantheon launching into early access this month. Mostly positive with a 79% review score, Pantheon has 9 races, 14 classes, and seems to be doing fine for itself for early access.

One to keep an eye on.

5. Tombstone MMO

Tombstone MMO launched earlier this month, a 2D MMO with multiple combat skills, gathering skills, and crafting skills as well. Oh my. There are 57 people in game right now and it does have a pretty warm reception among those trying it out with an 84% positive score.

Check it out. I will be.
