Brighter Shores Details Combat Changes

Still coming.

Brighter Shores has some content in the works, as you might expect from a game still in early access. Since players weren’t really happy about the game featuring episode-specific combat skills, the folks at Fen Research have been looking into merging the combat skills into one big combat skill.

The result? The combat skills will be merged. Shocker. The new combat profession will cap out at 2000, representing 500 levels in each of the four professions. Maxing out combat will take the same amount of time as it did before, meaning those of you who spent hundreds of hours leveling your skills won’t feel the time wasted.

Every new episode will increase the combat profession cap by 500. As new content is added, the levels of the creatures will be staggered to match the player’s level, so the game isn’t adding content that the player has already massively outleveled and hopefully making new content relevant to everyone regardless of how far they’ve grinded.

The other plus side is that your weapons and armor will be usable across all episodes, no more episode-specific loadouts. You’ll be able to craft weapons for all episodes using the crafting professions in Mine of Mantuban.
