And the new owner isn’t a crypto scammer.
Fractured Online is officially under new management. After a tumultuous release period resulting in most of the team being laid off and the rest going unpaid, Dynamight Studios announced today that they are joining Happy Cauldron Games, a company that can’t be all that bad. They have happy in the name after all.
The three remaining Dynamight Studios employees are joining HCG as hopefully paid employees, and will be joined by a community manager. As per the announcement:
HCG is led by Duncan Davis, a name some of you might already be familiar with—his nickname on our Discord server is TaNaHaRa. And no, no—he didn’t buy Fractured Online to turn it into a crypto scam. I’m looking at you, commenters on MMO websites! 😉
Duncan is a passionate Fractured Online player who genuinely believes in the game’s vision and wants to enhance both its gameplay and technology. Unlike a game publisher, he isn’t looking for quick monetization but is instead focused on long-term improvements.
His passion for the game and commitment to its evolution make him the perfect fit to take Fractured Online to the next level.
HCG is promising a new backend engine/hosting platform called Coherence that will take a few months of hard, hopefully paid work to port over but should result in a better product.
