Diablo IV Season 8 is out and this may shock some of you more than others, but Blizzard is getting greasy for the new season launch. Specifically the company has apparently decided that players who expect rewards in exchange for their money should go to hell. After paying their $25 of course.
The new battle pass system replaces the prior and offers less rewards for the same cost. While the pass offers choice in what the player wants to unlock, meaning if you’re looking for a very specific cosmetic and nothing else you might end up spending less than the $10 pass, overall the new system is a complete downgrade.
For starters there are far fewer cosmetics and unlocks than before, despite the cost of the battle pass remaining the same. Further, Blizzard decided to knock the platinum payout from 700 to 200, giving less premium currency for players to use toward future passes or cosmetics. The new pass no longer offers goods like emotes, headstones, or titles.
