Funcom Announces Reimbursement For PvP SNAFU

Dune: Awakening.

Funcom is reimbursing players following the latest patch on Dune: Awakening. On July 7 a patch inadvertently caused areas in the Deep Desert region to swap to PvP, and you can guess what the end result was. It was death and destruction, not an ice cream party.

In an announcement posted on the main page, Funcom apologized for the damage to player property and revealed that they are working on reimbursement.

We are working to reimburse vehicles and items (to the best of our ability) to players who were impacted by this. You can expect the reimbursed materials, items, and vehicle components to show up in the in-game ‘Claim Rewards’ tab by the end of this week.

There’s a few more topics discussed in the announcement including how Funcom is dealing with hackers and exploits, as well as plans to introduce reimbursement for vehicles and resources lost to bugs.
