In case you want to give them a phone call.
If you’ve been living under a rock for the last week, the internet is in an uproar. The kind of uproar that does the seemingly impossible and breaks political lines and gets absolutely everyone pissed off. The kind of uproar that actually makes corporations get kinda concerned for once in their lives.
Earlier this month Steam and Itch.io made the move to start pulling games from their PC storefronts, particularly sex games, at the behest of pressure from payment processors who themselves appear to be moving due to a campaign of harassment by a group of bad faith moral authoritarians.
And the internet has been collectively fighting back by absolutely hammering the phone lines of payment processors day and night, and clogging up their lines with complaints about not being able to make what would otherwise be completely legal purchases. And of course there’s the whole ruining careers and robbing developers of money owed to them, as Itch itself is not allowing payouts to developers whose games are removed for violating a retroactive policy that wasn’t in place while they were making said money.
You may be asking yourself, how do I join in? And do I have good news for you. If you check out this website, you’ll be able to find phone information for just about everyone. And remember; use the phone, not your email. Because phone calls can’t be hung up on, and emails can be filtered by keyword.
There are also scripts and cheat sheets for those unsure on how to handle the phone call.
