And nobody really noticed.
Toadman Interactive started winding down operations at the start of 2025, so it shouldn’t be entirely surprising that that the company’s games would eventually close down as well. And that’s what happened this week, although nobody really noticed or covered it because Toadman’s games don’t exactly have great customer numbers.
Chief among them is EvilVEvil, the vampire cooperative shooter. EvilVEvil shut its servers down on August 1, with the announcement coming pretty soon before on July 25. The good-ish news for EvilVEvil players is that the game is still playable in solo offline mode, although from my experience you’ll lose all of your progress and have to start over from scratch.
Block’n’Load also closed its doors August 1. 2018’s Immortal: Unchained is still available for purchase however that game is a single-player title and presumably doesn’t require any maintenance. Meanwhile upcoming title Block’n’Load 2 has been completely cancelled.
