Update 4.5 goes live.
Aion Classic’s 4.5 update is officially live and you know what that means. I’m writing about it.
Dubbed Ignite, Update 4.5 is the first major content update of 2026 bringing in a new class; the Phoenix. The Phoenix is a mid-range damage class with sexy flame guns and sexy flame leather clothes.
Update 4.5 also promises to modernize the Aion experience. Base classes are getting the kibosh with players starting out as their advanced class right away. New characters also start in their faction’s main city providing faster access to essential services and a smoother introduction to the game’s systems, according to Gameforge.
A new open world progression zone, Teva, will give players plenty of content to rotate through. Gameforge product manager Syd spoke on the update;
“With Ignite now live, we’re excited to see players experience AION Classic EU in new and meaningful ways. The Phoenix class offers a fresh approach to combat that works just as well in the new content as it does across previous updates. Our hope is that players enjoy rediscovering Atreia through this new playstyle while benefiting from the refinements and systems introduced in Update 4.5.”
