Daybreak Online Has Shut Down

Company status is unknown.

Daybreak Online suddenly closed its doors yesterday. Seemingly without notice or forewarning, Brazilian publisher Global Games made the move to retire Daybreak Online from the Steam store where it had sat in relative obscurity for the last two years. There has been no statement or mention from the publisher on the removal.

Daybreak Online launched on Steam in 2019. Available in Chinese and Portuguese, Daybreak Online garnered a miniscule 203 peak of concurrent players before immediately dropping to the low double digits.

Despite MMO Fallout’s best efforts, we haven’t even been able to confirm if Global Games is still in operation. The company’s website has been nonfunctional as of this publishing. Global Games had one other title that we know of, that being the South American publishing for Conquest Online. Known internationally as Conquer Online, the Global Games version doesn’t appear to have ever launched on Steam. Nonetheless its website is also defunct as of this publishing.

In February 2020, Global Games launched what they called the “largest gamer social network.” Largest may be a bit of an exaggeration, since that service also no longer appears to be in operation one year later.

And that is the story of Daybreak Online. Why, what did you think the headline was referring to?
