Final Fantasy XIV is one of the few remaining MMOs that mandates a subscription in order to play, but you can expect Square Enix to throw in a welcome back event every now and then to try and rekindle lost love with lapsed subscribers. If you happen to be one of those people, Square wants to show you exactly what you’ve been missing these last few updates.
Beginning March 14th and running through April 13th, inactive accounts will be able to log in without an active subscription. You can’t play all of those days, mind you, the welcome back program lasts four days from the moment you first log in. Eligible accounts include anyone who has purchased and played Final Fantasy XIV and whose accounts were already inactive as of 30 days before the promotion began. So if you haven’t been playing since at least February 14th, you’re in the clear. Download the Mog Station and get to playing.
The news article suggest that anyone who does wish to take part do so before April 11th as the free time will cut off on April 13th regardless of if the player has used it all.
Check out the post below for all details regarding the event.
