Hellgate: Stuck At Waterloo Bridge Passageway

When Hellgate: London relaunched, I decided to incorporate it into a new run of features titled “How Free Can You Be?” So far, I’ve already incorporated titles including Turbine’s games, Alganon, and now Hellgate. In regards to Hellgate, around level 16-17 players receive a series of quests that require them to travel to Southwark Station and one that requires them to travel through Waterloo Bridge Passageway. Upon attempting to enter Waterloo Bridge Passageway, players are met with what many are perceiving as a bug: The door does not open, nor does it give an explanation as to why.

At this point, you’ve completed the free portion of Hellgate Global, and will have to purchase a ticket in order to advance. This can be done in one of two ways: The ticket is available on the cash shop for 4000 tcoin ($4 USD). Since the minimum amount you can load into your account is $5, this will leave you with 1000 coins left to spend on your heart’s desire.

Alternatively, Hanbitsoft has decided to make the Act 3 tickets tradeable, meaning you can buy them in the in-game marketplace from other players who bought them from the cash shop. So if you’re a pro at grinding money, you can play Hellgate Global entirely for free.

Tickets on the marketplace go for over four hundred thousand palladium and unlocks the rest of the game, and applies to the whole account.

[Update Sept 9th]: A lot of people have asked me to post this up: If you already have the Act 3 ticket and still can’t get into Waterloo Bridge, check your missions. There are several that must be completed before you can enter Waterloo Bridge, regardless of if you’ve activated the ticket or not.

  1. I’m seriously pissed as this fact, I’ve spent hours on this game, and only to find out is isn’t really “F2P” at all :@

    1. Once you get a character leveled up to 16-17 with all of the quests, start a second character and level them up to max. By the time that second character hits the max level, you should have more than 400k palladium between them. Mail the Palladium from one character to the other and use it to buy the act 3 ticket on the auction house, or from another player (they go between 350-500k). The ticket opens up the whole account, so you only have to do this once.

You can absolutely play for free.

  2. It definitely is a bug. How can player know that this is start of the third act? There is not a hint in game, and that IS a bug.

    1. It may not be user-friendly, but I’m not sure it’s a bug. You do get a mission confirmation and cutscene when Act II ends, so it stands that any further missions would be Act III.

  3. Stop whining. . .pay the damn price its better than a lotta other games ot there that want a whole lot more.. . .

  4. Just kinda upsetting that I bought the game for $65 and now I cant get my char back and I have top pay and extra $5. But I will cause this game was pretty cool

  5. It would be nice if the folks that run Hellgate would put some sort of message in the game so that users know before they even start playing that they will need to buy a ticket to play beyond Act II. I did a lot of research before Hellgate even went live to make sure there wouldn’t be any hidden costs and I was assured by someone from the T3fun site that it was 100% free to play the whole game as it was at 2nd release. I’m going to dig up that email and use it to get me a free ticket. They can’t deny it when it came from an employee at the company that runs the game.
