Last Evil is a well liked and popular new Steam game, and you can’t buy it.

Update: It looks like the developer is still patching this game and may actually return it to the store.
Here is an oddity. Last Evil released on Steam on February 7, and as of February 13 has been retired at the publisher’s request. Why? Your guess is as good as ours. The developer posted an announcement explaining that something had happened and “the greed was too much.”
“But my greed was too much.
I can not explain in detail, but something terrible happened to me. I didn’t know too much before EA release. (Ah, I want to emphasize. Steam is innocent. I love Steam and thanks so much for giving me this opportunity.)”
For what it’s worth, the community seemed to fall in love with Last Evil. It held a 97% very positive review rating of 74 user reviews, and the news was met with more solemn understanding than anger.
The announcement goes on to recommend those who qualify for a refund get one. Incidentally, a representative from publisher Tinyhat Studios was seeking the developer’s contact information just a day prior to the removal. But that’s probably just a coincidence.
