It seems to be doing just fine.
Will To Live Online is an open world MMORPG that has been in early access for two years as of this week. It is brought to us by AlphaSoft LLC, and plans to be out of early access in 2021.
As of right now, Will To Live Online has a 77% “mostly positive” rating on Steam. Looking through the last 30 days of reviews, most of the negative reviews seem to point out that the game is pay to win and the PvP content sucks. There are PvP and PvE dedicated servers, and evidently you can expect a whole lot of getting ambushed and spawn killed on the PvP servers by players who are much higher level than you. Pay to win complaints come from the membership which offers +20% loot drops and better storage access. Negative reviews also point toward the game having a desperately long grind in order to make any progress.
Otherwise the fact that the game is free seems to be attracting a lot of eyes even in Steam’s overwhelmed library. At 2:30p.m. when this is being published, there are 1,992 concurrent players on Steam with an all time peak of 2,187 having been achieved just three hours ago.
The latest update to Will To Live Online was deployed on March 20 in the form of version 0.54.5 and the developers are celebrating two years on Steam with an event running from today (April 5) to April 7 activating premium status for the next two days.
We’ll have to check back in in early 2021 to see if Will To Live Online makes its full launch schedule. Have you played? Let us know your experience.
