Fallen Earth is (hopefully) coming back. After GamersFirst got taken over by Little Orbit the team made the hard decision that the game basically wasn’t sustainable and in order to do Fallen Earth justice it would need to be rebuilt. When? Where? How? The team couldn’t tell us.
CEO Matt Scott this week posted a series of work in progress screenshots of Fallen Earth showcasing assembled buildings and objects. It looks like the world is engulfed in winter but it’s really just untextured ground.
I want to be clear that Fallen Earth isn’t loved any less in the studio. Temporary circumstances have forced us to be very specific where we are putting our resources. The team is excited to get back into the Wastelands, so we can get you guys the game you deserve too. We are still very much in the early, exploratory phase of development where we were testing various solutions to each system that needs to be ported.
Rebooting Fallen Earth is currently #3 on the priority list for Little Orbit after the APB engine update and live streaming Unsung Story. We’re going to guess that the streaming bit will take slightly less time than upgrading APB’s engine.
