Money laundering? It seems likely.
We’ve been talking for a while now about suspicious titles on Steam that seem to be associated with money laundering. These $200 pre-built games that pop up on the store, don’t generate any sales, and for the most part eventually get banned.
Well this week another title got the boot. The game is called “Kepler”, a 2D platformer where the goal is to collect gems. It is likely either a pre-built full game package or a collection of pre-built assets, either way a legitimate developer did not make this game. Kepler launched on Steam this year back on March 2 to the tune of $200 and has sat there with no community interaction up until its ban this week.
There are still a fair few suspiciously priced titles on Steam. MMO Fallout will continue pointing them out as they appear.
