GRID Autosport is the 2014 racing game release from Codemasters and as of today, July 1, 2020, you can no longer buy it on Steam. If you head over to the Steam store the first thing you will notice is that the normal purchase button has been replaced with this message:
Notice: At the request of the publisher, GRID Autosport is no longer available for sale on Steam.
GRID Autosport is not the first GRID title to be pulled from Steam and we seem to undergo this song and dance roughly once every other year. Codemasters hasn’t said much about retiring games in the past but it is generally believed to be due to expiring licenses. GRID Autosport launched on June 26, 2014 which would mean the retirement is coming at the six year mark.
GRID Autosport saw its price cut heavily back in February to $9.99 from the prior $40 MSRP. MMO Fallout reached out to Codemasters for comment but has not received a response.
