Literally nothing at the company has changed.
Nexon has shut down its Orange County California studio this week. There is very little information on what the OC office of Nexon was doing since none of their projects were ever announced. It is a stark reminder that the Coronavirus pandemic is continuing to claim jobs in the gaming industry and pretty much everywhere else.
A Nexon spokesperson stated:
“We deeply appreciate the commitment and output of the OC team, however projects in development there no longer fit with our focus on core creative competencies. All permanent employees impacted by this decision will receive severance and outplacement assistance.”
Other developers in the OC area have stepped up with their own openings to ex-Nexon employees.
