Jagex has announced yet another double experience weekend in RuneScape and people are taking it exactly as you might expect. Many are pointing to the fact that RuneScape has already had two double experience weekends with the last being just two months ago while others are calling the weekends a smokescreen for Jagex’s increasing lack of actual content updates (despite boasting massive recruitment numbers of employees).
So Jagex has been playing the game of justification, noting in an FAQ that this is due to players returning to the game and also positive feedback to the prior experience weekend.
“We’ve had very positive feedback about the new format, which provides a healthier gameplay experience with less emphasis on playing for long periods of time. Also, we are aware that there are lots of players who have recently returned to RuneScape and might not have had the opportunity to participate in recent Double XP events, so this will be a great boost to anyone playing catch up”
August’s double experience week will mark 2020’s third event.
