It’s adorable and kinda charming.
I need to show this to my viewers. Bobygame are a group of shyster scam artists operating out of Turkey who procured documents from Runewaker’s licensing agreement with a Chinese company dated to 2015 for Dragon’s Prophet and used it to fraudulently represent themselves to Steam and Valve as being the legal owners of the Dragon’s Prophet license. They are not. I’ll remind you, these con artists are illegally misrepresenting themselves as owning something that they do not.
How can I be so sure? I have the documents they presented to Valve in my possession. I personally spoke to Runewaker’s executives who told me multiple times in absolutely no uncertain terms that this listing is neither authorized or licensed.
So I wanted to look up Bobygame on Google to see how high MMO Fallout’s coverage of this scam appears and I came upon this Everybody Wiki which was clearly written by someone at Bobygame, and because Bobygame is as incompetent as they are shady the whole thing is just precious.
In case you didn’t know, Bobygame is a subsidiary of Brand, Steam, and operates an internet gaming portal for massively multiplayer online games. It’s not a big portal as there is technically one game and technically no games because they aren’t legally operating Dragon’s Prophet and that hasn’t come out on Steam yet. It focuses on online games in multiple formats, client games, browser games, and mobile games. All of that is demonstrably false.
Bobygame was founded in 2020 which makes the second paragraph’s claim that they opened an international office two years later a little weird. They open it in 2022? Can we be completely sure of that? Later it becomes the company headquarter, planned to get the publisher of fantastic games. There’s a lot to unpack here and I’m guessing Bobygame set this up with the help of Kyle Reese who was a big fan of Dragon’s Prophet, the unlicensed Turkish private server, and told the company all about its future when he came back to help Sarah Connor destroy the Terminator.
Bobygame spent the better part of the last month attempting to deface the Dragon’s Prophet Wikipedia page to acknowledge themselves as the official European publisher. Bobygame has also made multiple attempts at creating Wikipedia pages for Bobygame and has been using sockpuppet accounts to circumvent bans. Nobody cares about a fraudulent game developer.
A new community started to form.
Over on this other page they claim to be a subsidiary of ProSiebenSat.1 Media, a German mass media company that’s basically like Germany’s Fox Corporation. Sure, why not. If you’re going to act the part of scam artist, why not go all the way? The company was founded by Bill Gates and currently has ten trillion dollars invested in it from Alibaba Express. They’re working on the next Pokemon game. Alex Kurtzman rumored to be writing it. Jason Statham is voicing Pickachu.
The whole Dragon’s Prophet scam server story is like a Russian nesting doll where every new layer is covered in a thicker layer of depression and a desperate need for acknowledgement. Hopefully this saga will end soon so I can go back to doing whatever it is I normally do here like…reviewing the latest flavor of Oreo cookies.
