Steam Bans: Valve Pulverizes Hase Games Over Ban Evasions

More games get the old hammer time treatment.

It looks like Valve has awoken from its slumber yet again to crack down on some of Steam’s many shady actors. This ban wave appears to be centralized on one publisher known as Hase Games and very likely over the fact that the company has been publishing banned Steam games. Many of the games appear to have been developed by Triple-Star Studios and Rock Path Collective and were part of a mass banwave that occurred in October 2019.

Let’s check out the damage, shall we?

1. SnakEscape Remastered

SnakEscape has already been banned from the Steam store once, back in October 2019 and it looks like the folks just decided to evade the ban and put it back up on the store regardless. Rock Path Collective was banned from the Steam store and just changed publisher to Hase Games.

2. My Super Defender: Battle Santa Edition

Another release from the now-banned publisher Hase Games attempting to evade a publisher ban. My Super Tower was developed by Mortis Games (now banned) from October 2019 including their entire line of games utilizing shady “donation” DLC.

3. QUBIC: Complete Edition

Yet another Triple-Star Studio, Rock Path Collective attempt at ban evasion and unsurprisingly yet another title published by Hase Games. Banned in October 2019, unlike the other games this one didn’t pop back up until April of this year.

4. Sweater? Ok! – The Dilogy

You know the drill by now. developed by Triple-Star Studio and Rock Path Collective and published by Hase Games. Unsurprisingly the original sweater games were also spamming those “buy the devs a beer” donation DLC schemes.

5. The District

This one is hard to figure out the reason for the ban, although it might be part of a larger ban against the developer Kotach and the attempt to distance this game from Uncrowded which was also banned in today’s wave. The District may have also gotten the cut over selling itself as a complete game while hiding in the description that it is only 20% complete. The District was not in early access.

6. Uncrowded

This one is a little strange. It appears that this UnitZ asset flip released by Kotach was actually pulled from sale years ago and has been unavailable in many countries since 2017. A running theory on the forum is that the game was taken down over stolen assets. Why it took Valve three years to finally ban the game is up for interpretation.

7. Conclusion

Released in 2016 by Tomadeira, Conclusion appears to be a complete non-game tossed up for the purpose of farming trading cards for Russian bots.

8. Election Simulator 2018

A Russian political propaganda game disguised as a “simulator” title. Otherwise a broken title with busted achievements released by Malatsa Games and published by MoyBatya.

9. George’s Memories Ep. 1

An episodic game released in 2018 by Tsurudeira. It looks like the developers fraudulently revoked a bunch of keys that were sold through a now-bankrupt bundle seller back in 2019. Players have been reporting the company for fraud since then, which may have contributed to Valve finally terminating the game from the store.

10. Owl Simulator

Shockingly Owl Simulator isn’t a game where you simulate being an owl. Instead it appears to be yet another political propaganda game by Malatsa Games disguised as a “simulator” title. Play as a Russian Anonymous member and browse your computer. Indulge in memes!

11. Cuckold Simulator

Nothing to say about this one. December 2019 release from propagandist outfit Malatsa Games. Shockingly a fair few bigots in the forums.

12. Let Me Leave Corona Zone

A broken scam game shoved out to capitalize on the Coronavirus by a propaganda outfit (Malatsa Games). The game has roughly 5-10 minutes of content.

13. Pocket Hentai Girl

There are accusations in the reviews that this game is a bitcoin miner. Otherwise it’s hard to tell why the game would be banned two months after release unless it falls under Valve’s occasionally haphazard handling of adult games.

14. StayHome

Another title under the now banned Hase Games.

Pre-Release Titles Banned:

  1. WASDead: Complete Edition – caught up in the Hase Games publisher ban.
  2. Thunder’s Leaves – Another Hase Games published ban.
  3. Hand And Stone – Published by Hase Games
  4. 30km Survival Zone: Chernobyl – Not banned, but removed. Possible DMCA.
