Steam: Vegas Pro 18 Launches To Embarrassing Price Mistake

Evidently burns associated license keys.

Vegas Pro 18. You can’t get there from Steam, or specifically Argentina. Vegas Pro 18 launched on the Steam store as of September 3, 2020 and if you head over to the store page right now you’ll find that the game was pulled from sale and “retired” within 24 hours. Why so?

Well Vegas Pro software costs hundreds of dollars on a regular day, and someone over at MAGIX Software pulled a bit of a blunder and accidentally listed the Argentine price at ARS$14.07 which includes a 30% discount over the standard MSRP. $14.07 sounds bad enough, until you also realize that it is roughly eighteen cents USD. That’s something people get fired over.

The response from MAGIX has apparently been to retire the software from the storefront and according to the forums simply burn licenses associated with the Steam purchases and render the product unusable for those who bought it. MAGIX staff are telling people to refund the game on Steam and to buy it from the official website. Good luck with that.

MMO Fallout has reached out to MAGIX for a comment, however it is overnight on a weekend in Germany and we don’t expect to hear anything until Monday at the earliest.
