Distractions & Diversions are RuneScape’s answer to daily/weekly/monthly repeatable mini-games. It may be shocking for some players to learn that these first graced the world way back in 2008 but it has indeed been twelve years.
To celebrate the anniversary, this week’s RuneScape update brings a revival to the Penguin Hide & Seek program where players seek out penguins hiding around the map in return for experience or gold rewards. New rewards include an upgradeable Penguin Spy Device that can scan and freeze nearby penguins, as well as a pet penguin of your very own.
In addition to the revitalized Penguin Hide & Seek, a new distraction and diversion releases this week in the form of the Effigy Incubator. A new monthly D&D that allows players to create their own effigies, fill them by training associated skills, and crack them open to obtain experience boosters.
