Shovelware using stolen assets.
Update 3:00 p.m.: Valve has awoken and banned both of Ali Mansoor’s games from the Steam store.
Original Story: Pablo Picasso once said “good artists borrow, great artists steal.” If that’s the case than Steam “developer” Al-Mansoor must be a really great artist, because not only are they seemingly incapable of producing an original thought, their main motiff seems to be borrowing and stealing assets for their game.
The Knight is a shovelware title on Steam that was clearly cobbled together from cheap asset store packs. It released today and currently has no reviews. It also advertises itself using a stolen trailer from the game For Honor.
Here is the trailer for The Knight:
Here is the trailer for For Honor from E3 2015:
I do believe that Al Mansoor is the same person as Ali Mansoor who we talked about peddling a terrible shovelware game using stolen art assets from Far Cry 2. It wouldn’t be a shock to learn that a person who has shown themselves to be lacking in morals and integrity would also hide their associations between titles.
The header image for the game meanwhile is stolen from Shadow of War.
