Number six will surprise you.
It’s time again to look at the week ahead in Steam releases.
1. Cyberpunk 2077 – December 10

Cyberpunk 2077 is the sleeper title from relatively obscure indie studio CD Projekt Red. Those of you keeping track may recall that it was originally supposed to release much earlier this year before seeing delays due to the ongoing pandemic. Cyberpunk is an open world RPG set in the futuristic city of Night City, California. Indie film darling Keanu Reeves plays a starring role.
2. Emoji Evolution – December 10

I’m not quite sure why this is on the list either. Emoji Evolution is a game where you combine basic elements to create different blueprints that can be combined to create even more blueprints. I’m not entirely sure how this managed to get such a high number of followers while maintaining absolutely zero discussion in the forums.
Maybe it’s botted.
3. Unto The End – December 9

Unto The End is a side scrolling game that features what the developers call “read-react” combat. The long version is that sword fights require intelligent and tactically minded strikes in order to come out victorious. The game features fantastic visuals making full use of a minimalist art style to create quite a unique ambiance along with the game’s audio.
4. Call of the Sea – December 8

The earliest game you’ll be able to play this week is Call of the Sea releasing on December 8. Set in 1934, Call of the Sea puts players in the role of Norah who travels to a tropical island in search of her missing husband. Solve puzzles, unlock the secrets, and appears to be along the lines of What Remains of Edith Finch or other “walking simulators” but the voice acting is good and the visuals are nice.
We’ll have to see just how good it is.
5. Medal of Honor: Above and Beyond – December 12

Medal of Honor: Above and Beyond is the VR reboot to a series that hasn’t had a new game in eight years. Medal of Honor is of course the series that kicked off cinematic world war 2 shooters with the help of Steven Spielberg back in the 90’s. The latest title has moved over to fan favorite Respawn Entertainment and looks to go back to the series roots.
Check it out this Saturday.
