Because it’s Ubisoft, so why not?
Ghost Recon Breakpoint is heading into another free weekend starting January 21 and running through January 25, and really there’s no better time for Ubisoft to break the game than when a number of people will have it as their first impression. The launch of patch 3.1.0 brought in a number of new content features including the Rainbow Six Siege crossover event scheduled to take place this week. Fun times for all.
Unless you’re one of the people reporting that they can’t get the game to launch period. A growing number of users on the Ghost Recon subreddit, including yours truly, have found that their game refuses to launch period following the latest update. One user noted getting kicked to dashboard on the Xbox One. Others have pointed out that the game’s pre-load option for the free week does not work and instead of allowing people to start downloading demands a CD-key.
On PC the game doesn’t outright crash but rather refuses to launch. The process sits active in the user’s task manager until forcefully quit.
MMO Fallout is actively looking into potential bypasses on PC and will update if we find something that works.
