Confirming title for June 23.
Aion was a greatly loved game when it released in 2008. Since then however the game pushed out many of its players through ill-conceived updates and various other additions/removals from the title. The shift from a subscription title to free to play and the ensuing monetization changes certainly didn’t help garner favor for NCSoft from the community.
Last year however NCSoft released a classic version of Aion in Korea, and the game has since exploded in success. In fact we noted last month that Aion’s sales have more than doubled over its 2020 performance. The Classic server returns to an older era of Aion and eschews the free to play model for the traditional subscription. The question that remained was whether NCSoft would bring the same deal to the west.
And they are. NCSoft announced today that Aion Classic will hit western shores on June 23. A couple of founders packs are already available for purchase with the cheapest at $20 containing one month of subscription time as well as a title and costume. Players can log in to create characters starting June 16 to receive an exclusive pet for their efforts.
