Final Fantasy XIV Compensates Subscribers

Additional 7 days of game time.

Final Fantasy XIV is stupidly popular right now, as in breaking Steam concurrency record level of popular. As a result players from all walks of life and all servers are feeling the strain on the servers. Long queue times, and pretty much that’s it.

Regardless, game director Naoki Yoshida took to the FFXIV dev blog to announce that all subscribers will receive a seven day extension to their subscription come December 7. The post goes on to explain that should server problems remain an issue for longer than anticipated, that Square will consider further compensation.

Considering that we are asking players to wait in queues for extremely long periods of time and the ongoing situation making it difficult to play normally, we have decided that during the official release of Endwalker on December 7, we will be granting 7 days of free game time to all players who own the full version of the game and have an active subscription. This also includes players who are currently playing on the 30-day free play period included when registering the full version of the game and those with multiple accounts.

Final Fantasy’s latest expansion Endwalker is now in early access.
