You’re not the only one whose game is crashing constantly.
Today marks the launch of Destiny 2‘s winter event, The Dawning, and for many players it has also introduced another new event to the popular platforming shooter; Crashmas. If you’ve been playing through Destiny 2 today, or over the last week, you may have noticed that the game is crashing. A lot. Specifically in the Dares of Eternity strike and more specifically during the boss fight at the end.
The good news is you’re not alone in this. The bad news is it is definitely an issue at the game level and nothing you can fix by rebooting your computer or something simple like that. Usually the game will straight up crash to desktop or dashboard while other times it will boot the player back to orbit with a Calabrese error.
Fortunately Bungie is aware of the issue and working on it. Unfortunately this means the 30th anniversary strike is effectively unplayable until they do fix it. Unfortunately unfortunately it appears to be game-wide, meaning those of you with Destiny 2 on multiple systems can’t just hop over to the Xbox while the PC version gets checked out. Other players in the Grasp of Avarice dungeon are crashing out as well, but under more specific circumstances.
We are currently investigating an increase in crashes and CALABRESE errors. Players in the Grasp of Avarice Dungeon will crash after killing the fifth Servitor if the third Servitor is killed but not launched.
