Gloria Victis To Sunset Alongside Developer

This October.

Gloria Victis is shutting down because developer Black Eye Games is going out of business. The unfortunate news was delivered this week on the official Steam page, with BEG noting the obvious reason behind the game’s closure; Debt collectors don’t accept IOUs as payment.

But nothing can last forever, and after thinking it through for countless times, we have to make the toughest decision ever. Mostly due to financial reasons, as our game has always been a niche which we found extremely hard to expand without losing the game’s identity, and required more and more resources to progress and keep the pace, and due to continuous work without required rest for so long which eventually led to burnouts, we won’t be able to provide required maintenance on the game much longer.

Servers will remain online until October 31, and BEG has promised to help their devs in finding new work. Unfortunately due to the size and scope of the servers, handing over hosting to the community is not possible.

MMO Fallout will update in a year when some nerd figures out a way to reverse engineer the code and host a fully functioning server on a Commodore 64.
