Even from your friends.
We’ve all had those games we see on Steam that we think about buying, and then don’t because what if our friends see that we’re playing it? What if our family sees that we’re playing it? What if our coworkers see that we’re playing it? You know what I’m talking about. I’m referring to those embarrassing, dirty, greasy, shameful Sonic titles.
Or maybe you’re worried about porn games.
Well do I have news for you. The Steam beta branch includes a new update allowing you to mark games as private as early as the point of purchase. Other people won’t be able to see your ownership, your activity, nothing.
Starting today you’ll be able to mark specific games as private and they’ll disappear from anywhere they’d be viewed by someone other than you. That includes: your ownership, in-game status, playtime, and activity in that game. This additional control allows you to keep most of your Steam Library visible to your friends, so they can see what you are playing and join in, yet also keep a few of those games just to yourself.
For when you want to fly your freak flag high, but not high enough that anyone else can see it.
