It’s an update.
Final Fantasy XI is still getting a lot of updates for a game that’s in maintenance mode. This month’s update has been deployed to live servers and includes some new stuff to do with your time and effort.
Foremost there are new enemies to take down in Master Trials including Chaos and Bahamut and actually nobody else. Just those two. You get the return of Vana’Bout, where players across the game earn points to reach a global goal and receive a reward. Or don’t, and they’ll kill you.
Tonberries and Pteraketos have returned to Ambuscade, and there’s a login campaign through June 9 where you receive free stuff for logging in. Get it? Clear as mud?
