After unbanning all of them.
APB: Reloaded hasn’t had a fantastic 2024 so far. Two of the three systems the game was on have sunset with the Xbox shutting down far earlier due to the game simply not being fixable. In June the folks at Little Orbit made the most decision to ever be decided and unbanned nearly everyone who has ever been banned for cheating.
So what’s the news now? Well they’re going to start banning cheaters again. The latest patch notes dropped this week revealed SARD anti-cheat.
APB has had many different integrations in the past, but I felt it was important to take the proper time to evaluate both old and new solutions. This time around, I had two major criteria: (1) client and server side support and (2) custom integration where Little Orbit collects the penalty information, but we apply our own rules on how to handle cheaters. The team at SARD has been fantastic to work with, and after months of development, we are finally ready to launch.
SARD promises a .001% false positive rate, a 99.99% efficiency, with more than ten games protected. According to the website they have banned a whole 8,211 players across all of their titles in the last month of 61,750 detected bots, cheats, and hacks. SARD promises to used advanced, cutting edge AI to monitor for cheaters and take action.
And what are those games? Ragnarok: Landverse, Aion Classic, Ragnarok, Silkroad Online, Soldier One, Magic to Master, Aion, Blade & Soul. All games best known for their lack of cheaters. God help us all.
The patch is set to launch in a few weeks.
