Per year.
Epic Games Store is ramping up the fight for market share this week. Epic Games announced today that they are once again slashing revenue share in return for putting your game on the Epic Games Store. The update goes into effect next month and promises 0% revenue share for the first $1 million made on the store annually.
In other words most indie devs won’t pay a dime for Epic hosting.
Starting in June 2025, for any Epic Games Store payments we process, developers will pay a 0% revenue share on their first $1,000,000 in revenue per app per year, and then our regular 88%/12% revenue share when they earn more than that.
Also part of the new terms, Epic will allow devs to set up webshops to avoid Google/Apple fees.
These webshops can offer players out-of-app purchases, as a more cost-effective alternative to in-app purchases, where Apple, Google, and others charge exorbitant fees. With new legal rulings in place, developers will be able to send players from games to make digital purchases from webshops on any platform that allows it, including iOS in the European Union and United States.
The new changes go into effect in June. When in June? Presumably June 1.
