Skyforge is officially dead. This week the folks at 4Games announced that services will wind down for the free to play MMO beginning…well, right now. The shutdown was announced Thursday July 31, with payments ceasing August 1.
Servers are expected to close on September 3, 2025. According to 4Games, the decision to close the game down was not theirs but one made by the IP’s owner which would be Allods Team and/or Obsidian Entertainment. Either way, they seemingly refused to give the publisher any reason for the sudden closure.
The rightholder has made the decision to discontinue the project on all platforms. Further details regarding this decision are not disclosed.
Skyforge launched in 2015 on PC, 2017 on console, and 2021 in Switch. According to Wikipedia, the last major update to the game was in 2019. The Steam version last peaked at over 1,000 concurrent users in 2017.
