Yep. That’s a sentence.
Way back in March we learned the FBI was hot on the trail investigating a string of computer breaches related to our very own Valve’s Steam platform for gaming. And only four months later the FBI already has their finger on the button and it’s (partially) thanks to Uber Eats.
The complaint signed and presented before Seattle magistrate judge Michelle Peterson, pegs Zyaire Dontaevious Zamarion Wilkins as one of multiple suspects. It should be noted that Wilkins is not being accused of actually developing the malware, but of buying it and marketing the infected games that allegedly stole over $220,000 from 80 known individuals.
The alleged mastermind behind the plot goes unnamed and is referred to as “SUBJECT 1” and the complaint notes that they were identified and had devices seized from their home in execution of a search warrant back in February 2026. The feds were then able to track crypto transactions and gift card purchases, eventually figuring out Wilkins’ identity in part thanks to Uber Eats gift cards he had purchased and then had the food delivered to his house.
